OUR PROJECT

The Gulabi project is an initiative of “RAIN DROP”. This association helps the Indians in the management of their resources such as water. In addition, Raindrop had the idea of creating a partnership with our school, the Ecole Supérieure du Parfum de Grasse. Indeed, the goal of this project is to help women in disadvantaged Indian villages to have a sustainable source of income. Motivated by this goal, we decided to create a solid soap that women can produce later in their villages. Due to the meteorological situation in India (monsoon) and the precarious situation, we have to adapt our formula to these constraints. This means reducing the number of ingredients, and preparing tutorial videos on how to make soap. For the formulation, we chose flowers and woods adapted to the Indian climate. These raw materials are heat resistant and do not require any special preservation method. Since the goal is to allow women to be independent, they will cultivate their own plants dedicated to the creation of soaps. They will also sell the final product in local markets. To ensure the sale of the soaps, we have thought of the packaging. We want it to embody India, inspired by the sahari we choose something colorful. In addition, we choose to make this packaging eco-responsible, so we will use scraps of Saharis-made fabrics to make pouches.

  Eventually the soap will hopefully be sold in Europe and India.

This humanitarian project is an opportunity for us to express our creativity and pass on our knowledge.
